Regardless of duration, these samples all have a common thread: they are all “product- oriented.” They are not about attractive talent, beautiful settings, or miracle claims... they are about someone’s product; what it can do, it’s features, benefits, and possibly even it’s “coolness factor.”

• < 1 Minute: Some of these shows have no narration or text. They are referred to as B-roll videotape (the B stands for “background”) and were produced for QVC & HSN.

• 1 - 2 Minutes: These programs show the most flexibility. Primarily, this timeframe is utilized in tradeshows to maximize exposure while allowing for visitor attention span. These shows are just long enough to give some product detail and pique curiosity. Some are “extended” TV commercials (mini-infomercials), while others have been lengthened and edited specifically for tradeshows. We usually shoot enough digital video for this time frame to easily re-edit & re-purpose these programs.

• > 2 Minutes: These productions are definitely geared for tradeshows. You will notice that some are scripted and some are not. The unscripted shows will have text, graphics and background music designed to educate and engage viewers, keeping them at the booth until your sales staff can attend to them personally. The scripted programs are great for DVD giveaways, or for use as promotional mailers. People are far more likely to watch an interesting DVD when they get home, rather than read a detailed flyer or brochure about your product or service!
